BACKGROUND
I was born and raised in Winston-Salem. I was fortunate to attend for 12 years and graduate from Forsyth Country Day School in 1987. I then moved on to Virginia Tech, graduating in 1992. Over the next 11 years, I lived in array of towns and cities around Virginia and North Carolina. My wife April and I relocated to Winston-Salem in the summer of 2003.
April and I keep a busy, filled schedule and have an active family life with our young children. We are active members in the life of the church at Mount Tabor United Methodist Church. For several years I have been involved in NC Fusion (Twin City) Soccer, serving as a head coach in the recreation program for 12 seasons and organizing and leading a dozen or more small-side soccer games per year during the off-seasons for my children and their friends and teammates.

THE TRANSITION TO COLLEGE ADMISSION COACHING
Starting in October 2011, I plunged into the field with extensive reading, education, networking and travel. At the core of my training and preparation was UCLA Extension's College Counseling Certificate, a long-established and a highly respected program focused on the college admission process, including coverage of career counseling and personality testing. In the span of 15 months, I finished this comprehensive program, composed of seven in-depth online courses as well as an on-site 10-week practicum (internship). I completed my practicum in Forsyth Country Day School's College Counseling office in March of 2013.
